Biblical salvation is God's way of providing a path for all people to be delivered from sin and spiritual death through repentance (a sincere turning away, in both the mind and heart, from self to God) and through faith in Jesus Christ. The book of Romans in the Bible provides a step-by-step "map" that leads to salvation. Many call it the Romans Road:

Step 1: Recognize that everyone needs salvation because we have all sinned: As it is written, there is no one righteous; no, not one. There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God. They have all turned away. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.·...for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; (Romans Chapter 3, verses 10-12, & verse 23)

Step 2: Understand that the consequence of sin is death: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans Chapter 6, verse 23)

Step 3: Know that Jesus Christ died for our sins. He paid the price for our sins: But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans Chapter 5, verse 8)

Step 4: Choose to receive salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ: ...if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For, whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans Chapter 10, verses 9-10, & verse 13)

Step 5: Be assured that salvation through Jesus Christ brings us into a relationship of peace with God: Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; (Romans Chapter 5, verse 1); There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don? walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans Chapter 8, verse 1); For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from God? love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans Chapter 8, verses 38-39)

Step 6: Respond by receiving God's free gift of salvation; here's how: (a) Confess to God that you are a sinner, and as a result you understand that you deserve death; (b) Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to save you from sin and death, to give you eternal life; (c) Repent by turning from your old life of sin to a new life in Christ; (d) Receive, through faith in Jesus Christ, his free gift of salvation. To grow in understanding, start reading the Holy Bible daily and start attending a Bible believing church (not all churches are the same).         Note: All scripture is from the World English Bible
